All candles are enjoyable and they can brighten up your home and fill it with a rich scent of your choice. There are a lot of different types of candles that are made with different types of waxes. Candles are made of paraffin wax, beeswax, and soy wax just to name a few. And today we are going to compare beeswax candles to soy wax candles so that you will know what the differences are. So let’s get started.

One of the biggest differences of the two types of candle wax is the price. Beeswax is so much more expensive than soy wax. Beeswax candles can be up to 6 times the price of soy candles depending on where you buy them from and this is why soy has become so popular in the last decade.

Another advantage that soy wax candles have over beeswax candles is that soy wax is much easier to clean up. If some wax gets spilled or is crushed on the floor soy wax can be easily cleaned up with a bit of soap and a damp cloth. Beeswax can be a nightmare if it has been allowed to dry. You will have to chip at the hardened wax and even then it may be too late for you to save whatever the wax was spilled on.

Both candles are natural and will last longer than paraffin candles. Both of these types of wax are also better for the environment and will release minimal toxins and black smoke. In terms of which candle will last longer when burned though beeswax will last longer but not by much. Both candles last a long time when they are burned but beeswax probably because it is so much harder than soy wax lasts about 10% longer when lit.

Soy candles if they are scented will smell richer and have a smell that is more natural than a beeswax candle. The scent will fill the house at a better rate and they won’t smell fake. The natural smell of the soy candle wax alone is enough to make someone choose the soy over the beeswax.

Candles are a great way to light up your home and if they are scented it is a wonderful greeting for any guest. Soy candles are so much cheaper than beeswax candles and they almost last as long when burned. The soy candle wax smells so much better too when it is scented; the soy wax adds a richness to the smell and releases the fragrance at a better rate. If you have spilled beeswax on a piece of furniture then it can be trouble. Beeswax is extremely hard to successfully remove without damaging the fabric that it was spilled on. Beeswax last a bit longer than soy candles but when you compare the prices between the two types of wax it doesn’t make sense to buy beeswax because of this reason. Soy candles are the better value and are just as good as beeswax candles.

If you and your family enjoy the smell that scented candles bring into your house then you are not alone. Scented candles can help to get rid of smells that can take over your home such as pet odours or maybe even that fish that you decided to put into the microwave. But you don’t need to have an excuse to light a scented candle; the smell taking over your home is enough to give anybody reason to enjoy them. The aroma that fills the air can bring back so many great memories or give your house a mood all of it’s own.

Although the smell of scented candles is enjoyed by most there are some people that they will bother. This can be because of allergies or asthma in some cases. So what are some ways in which we can still enjoy candles but also not bother others that are in the home?

Trim wicks short

Trimming a candle wick will ensure that the candle produces less smoke. The smoke that is released into the air can bother a lot of people’s allergies. This smoke can also result in soot found on your furniture and the interior of your house.

Burn candles in well ventilated areas

Burning candles in small rooms can lead to irritation of the senses. Ensure that you are using candles in a well ventilated space before you light them. This will make the candle much more enjoyable for everyone in the house.

Burn unscented or lightly scented soy candles

If it is the smell of the candles that are unbearable to the people in your home then another option is to use unscented candles. Unscented candles will barely have any smell and can be the only option for your household. But if you need candles that are not quite as strong then you can also buy lightly scented candles. Lightly scented candles will not be as powerful as regular ones and can actually not even be detected by some people. The best option is to buy soy scented candles. Soy scented candles have a pleasant smell because they are made to not be quite as over powering as some of the cheaper varieties. If you are using paraffin scented candles then this could be the reason that the smell is bothering people in your household. This is because paraffin are not made with the same standards as soy candles and are also made out of ingredients that can irritate many people’s senses. Soy candles have been known to be easier on the senses and are a great alternative when scented candles can irritate people with sensitive conditions.

Scented candles can be a welcome addition to any household and it would be disappointing if you couldn’t use them. Before you completely give up on scented candles be sure to try different types. There are many types that are made for people with sensitive conditions such as soy candles. So give soy scented candles a try.

If you enjoy candles as much as I do then you probably light them every time that you get a chance. I light them in the morning when I wake up to perk up my senses and will light them when bed time is nearing because they relax me. Pretty much when I am at my home my candles are lit and keeping me company. I always get a bit excited when I am about to light them because I sometimes depend on them to put me in a better mood. They help me to unwind when I am stressed out and will often keep my spirits up when I am feeling down. There is just something about the candle and the scent of them that makes me so happy. Although I try to have my candles lit as much as possible I make sure to be careful with them because they can have the potential to be dangerous if you are not paying attention to them.

I was over at a friend’s house last week and we were drinking tea and chatting. She had some soy candles lit in her living room and I had noticed that they were basically stumps. I commented on them and said that she should probably replace them and she replied that she just lets them burn out until they are finished. She won’t replace the candles until the wick has burned down to the end of the wick and actually extinguishes itself.

I had to let her know that this is a bad idea. I mean sure she wants to get the most out of her candles but letting the flame burn down until the end of the wick could be very dangerous. And it could start a fire. The wick should only be lit when there is wax to surround it. Having a flame without wax surrounding it could start a fire.

Always be sure to inspect your candles when they are burning down. Be sure to check and see if there is enough wax so that you can burn your candles safely. If there isn’t much wax left then it is always best to dispose of a candle. Having a flame with no wax could be very dangerous. If you are too cheap to throw out a candle that is burned down then just think of the consequences.

Candles can be so enjoyable but when you have a flame inside your house or anywhere else where fire could have potential then you need to be extra careful. Candles are fun but they are not a toy so you should always practice candle safety and pass it on to everyone else in the house. It only takes one candle to start a fire and by then it could have caused a lot of damage. Always inspect your candles to make sure that there is enough wax to safely use them. It is better to be safe than to be cheap.

If you have ever spilled the wax from a candle accidentally, you probably know that it is a pain to clean from the carpet, floor, counter, or any other surface. Candle jars also become sooty and look ugly after the flame has left black marks on the edges. Soy candles are completely biodegradable and easy to clean, which makes them a preferred type of candle for many people.

So why soy candles? They are an environmentally friendly candle that is gaining immense popularity. In fact, conventional candle sales are going down while soy candle sales are going up. More people want to avoid the risks of paraffin or beeswax candles by using a natural biodegradable variety that is safer for your home and those living in it.

Better yet, soy candles actually last LONGER than conventionally made candles and can be cheaper than using beeswax. However, they are not cheaper than the lowest quality wax known as paraffin wax. It is easy to see why so many households are preferring soy candles to other varieties. They look better, smell stronger, and last considerably longer than other candle types. Not to mention they are a completely environmentally friendly candle!

Eco-conscious people know that soy is a renewable resource, and very versatile. Since it is made from plant matter it is also biodegradable and doesn’t harm the environment when burned or thrown away. In the event that you spill your soy candle, you simply use warm water and soap to scrub up the excess wax. Even if it hardens you can still remove the wax easily – without any unsightly pieces left behind.

In the event that your candle does spill on any other surface besides a hard counter or floor, just use soap. There is no need for heavy duty cleaners or scraping wax away for hours at a time. Soap and water will remove soy wax from carpets, countertops, linoleum, clothing, skin, and fabrics. While paraffin wax leaves behind a stain or residue, soy candle wax does not do so once it is cleaned up! It is an easy process that just takes a few minutes at most. When the wax is removed it will be completely dissolved and no one would ever notice you spilled the wax.

Soy candles are easy to clean and an excellent alternative to other candle types. Use these with confidence and you will be converted for life!

Candles are an excellent way to turn a bland environment into a sexy and romantic one. Many fragrances are designed to evoke different emotions, and they work quite well at doing so. Scent is a powerful thing and has the power to make someone feel sexy, turned on, or calm. But can certain scents really act as an aphrodisiac?

Just like foods can boost sexual desire to men and women, scent can as well. Many perfumes and fragranced body products are designed to do just that very thing. Candle fragrances can act similarly if their scent is potent enough.

Chocolate candle scents are known to be one of the most powerful fragrances. Studies suggest that smelling chocolate alone can increase sexual desire and boost your overall mood. You get all of the benefits of a dark chocolate bar – but none of the calories or fat! How amazing is that for candle and chocolate lovers? Chocolate is also a delicious scent that may trigger your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, or wife to say “Yum what do we have here?”

Another fragrance would be strawberry or exotic scents. Strawberry is particularly interesting because it can go one way or the other. For some people it makes them happy and giddy, but others become quite aroused at the smell of delicious strawberries. Passionflower scents are also great for summertime, and may make you feel more aroused and attracted to your spouse. These are a simple yet sneaky way to create an alluring environment without taking a pill or using food to act as a mood booster.

Exotic scents are likely one of the most sensual. Deep amber, bergamot, and “spicy” things tend to make people feel more sexy and sensual. Many perfumes do this as well, but a candle can emanate through the entire home, making each room fill your head with a beautiful rich scent. This causes a spark in your brain, which tells your body to respond by acting a certain way.

The best part is that soy candles hold their scent quite well. Since many soy based votives and jar candles tend to use natural fragrances, the overall effect is higher than with an inferior candle variety. If you want to boost your mood and create an aphrodisiac for sensual moments then these are highly recommended for your bedroom or bathroom – or anywhere else for that matter.

Candles are a beloved part of any home. They provide a relaxing atmosphere, and when the electricity goes out you have a back up light source. Candles can also create a sensual environment for romantic massages or candlelit dinners. But research is proving again and again that paraffin wax may be causing cancer.

Essentially, paraffin wax is extremely cheap. Candle makers know that it is cheap, which is why it is frequently used in dollar store votives, cheaply made candles, and drugstore brand candles. They smell great in the jar, but when they burn these candles usually leave behind an unpleasant or bland scent. While they come in enticing scents such as vanilla butter-cream and candy apple, the potential risks are substantial.

When used in closed rooms frequently, the candles begin to emit a toxic fume. The hardest part is that it isn’t exactly possible to ventilate a room with a candle lit. It would most likely blow out. That black soot you often see isn’t just something innocent, it contains poisonous ingredients that can cause allergy problems, asthma, and more serious problems down the road. Young babies and the elderly may be more prone to these problems as well.

It isn’t likely that occasionally lighting a paraffin based candle will hurt you, but who uses candles “occasionally”? Most people light a candle daily, and many others enjoy candlelit baths. This build up can begin to take its toll in the sneakiest of ways.

Other chemicals, fragrances, and additives used in candles may also contribute to the risk factor of using a paraffin based candle. In the past candles were reserved for emergencies, but now they are practically a commodity and essential “decoration” for many homes.

If you still want to enjoy candles, then soy based candles are an excellent eco-friendly alternative. The wax is made from the soy plant which doesn’t pose any serious risks for your health. Soy based candles do not leave behind the unsightly black soot either, which is an aesthetic and health bonus! In addition, soy candles are equally as affordable as top of the line paraffin or beeswax candle varieties. They come in numerous scents, and actually smell more powerful than other types. When using a soy candle you won’t put yourself at risk for cancer, and romantic baths and dinners are still fair game.
